The Enchanted Princess
The Enchanted Princess

As the clock struck three,
With a noise huge enough for birds to flee,
The darkness prevailing as long I could see,
There was no one next to me.
I stood long for about an hour,
With a hope to gather some power,
I was locked in an ancient tower,
The place smelled like some wildflower.
I wore a long gown, not at all gorgeous,
But not someone who ruled fortress,
I was way far from being flawless,
I waited and waited though I was hopeless.
The scene was not less than haunted,
A fear which left me daunted,
But something happened unwanted,
Seemed someone enchanted.
I felt a kiss on my forehead,
With my love sitting beside my bed,
I was dressed in a gown colored red,
I was gay and glad.
Then I saw the light,
It was a dream I caught at night,
The sun shining bright,
Wished never to return to that plight.
