The Distressed Growls of the Giant Panda

The Distressed Growls of the Giant Panda

It was once full of peaceful days and nights

I was wild and free,

Living a happy and solitary life

With plentiful sweet bamboos all around in the trees

And enough space to swing, climb and play with the breeze.

But I don't understand, have I ever done any harm,

You ignorant humans?

I am quiet, docile, and simple as of my solitary nature

Did you ever see a giant black and white creature

Trespassing your crowded places? I think not!

And yet, I am surrounded by insouciant humans.

Don't you realize that you are bereaving us, innocent creatures,

of our homes and our food?

Year after year, our families are gone, not even a scent of my mate I can track!

I thought you people have some sympathy, I thought you would leave us alone,

But your selfishness leads to our last days of moan...
