The Corona Chronicles

The Corona Chronicles

It all started 40 days ago

In the tizzy loops of pseudo jollification

I thought It would be merely a short “ VACATION”

First, it came like a hibernated amphibian

And rose like a huge volcanic eruption

The figure’s crest and trough are still waving

And so is my psyche

Sometimes I am like a marathon winner in the house

And the next day, torpid bee in the hive

Some days trending delicacies promise to engross

polishing culinary more and more and more

Clicks enjoyed paparazzi on social media stories

And finally, dal chaawal ended this warfare

Yoga mat too, welcomed me every morning

We had smooth sheeny moves and squats

But now, after this third lockdown extension

I ditched in aghast, my ad interim companion

Mood swings are new mundane

Exuberant girlfriend in the morning drowsy consort till dusk

Adorable hippy supermom a day before

and suddenly, pythoness in the husk

Pencils and pastels too were transient

Making my inside “ Hussain” better

mix and match of colors and thoughts as well

sliding and popping through my grey matter

Spying deep my innards

Now I have reached the tape

Oh please Corona! Listen to us

Wrap your bags and just sway away

A juggling MOM and the whole world beg of you

Put your magic( evil) show hell down

We just want to wake up to a happy healthy dawn

It’s enough now of your brawn

Oh, dear 2020!! Why are you turning out hostile, ugly and menace

Are you on the verge of collecting ceaseless obituaries?

Please now back off with your weapons

Stars and souls rudely you have taken

Let us now live in peace

I guess, it’s all paid now, please

No more nightmares now

For God’s sake, just stop being forbidden somehow !!

A frustrated Mon.
