Last Christmas, I waited for Santa to arrive,
I tucked a letter in my stocking, keeping hope alive.

I waited from dusk to dawn, dreaming of a knock on the door,
But when my eyes opened wide, the dream was no more.

I rushed downstairs to find the gift,
But the space was empty; my spirits began to drift.

Disappointed, I reached into the stocking with a sigh,
"Did Santa come? Did he see my letter? Did he pass me by?"

Then I found a red envelope, hidden deep inside.
I opened the note, and this is what it replied:

"Sweetheart, the gift you asked for is too huge to give,
But dry your tears, for his spirit still lives.

Find him in the stars that shine so bright,
In the moon that watches over you at night,
In the sun that warms you, never leaving your side.

Your dear Daddy is always around.
Though you lost him so soon, and your grief is profound,
I cannot fix the loss, but know this is true:
He never left your side; he is always with you.

When the wind dries your tears,
When the moonlight calms your fears,
When you stumble but do not fall,
When you choose wrong, but find the right path after all.

That is not just the universe, that is your Daddy dear.
Protecting, loving, caring, and guiding you here.
Always by your side, through the then and the now.

Lots of Love,
Yours, Santa"
