The caged parrot

The caged parrot looked at his master,

You know how it feels in confinement,

 You feel now like how I felt all along,

Like a trapped bird in a cage. 

You often look out of the window,

Hoping that day will come when,

Your are outside, in total freedom,

You seem to understand what is in my mind,

Come up to me and say, Sorry,

 Open My cage, say fly away little bird,

 Once out of the cage, I fly around the house,

Flapping my wings in happiness, then, 

Fly back and settle in my cage.

He smiles, I will not close the trap door.

You are free to fly away any time,

But I tell him this is cage is my home,

But now I can fly out whenever I want.

that is what freedom means to all.

To allow them freedom of movment,

He smiles at me, and says the lock down,

Will be over soon,and once again I will enjoy my freedom.

and you also will now be free to fly away,

I get out of the cage perch on his shoulder,

Give him a peck on his cheek say thank you

 I think how one lock down has taught you how it feels,

To be caged in your homes as we are always,

We are birds,we love our freedom to fly,

Learn how it feels when you are confined, and allow us our freedom.

Don't trap us in you little cages,

But allows us birds to fly in freedom.
