That Cooker Whistle
That Cooker Whistle
Her legs are hurting,
Festival holidays completed,
What does the festival mean for you,
Is not the same for everyone,
She needs more energy,
To clean more houses,
Everyone wants to make their house more beautiful, During festivals,
She might get some share in the delicacies,
Made by the people in those houses during this season,
Old clothes can be gifted to her,
She waits for this season,
She prays to God to give more strength,
To complete the tasks in houses,
In such times,
People think,
She is the essence of the colony,
Without her,
This fes
tival is incomplete,
For many years,
She is repeating the same smile during festivals,
People come and go,
She is the constant one in the colony,
Completing all the work,
She reached her home before festival night,
Her home is a small room with a bed in it,
She wanted to decorate her house,
With all the leftover pieces dumped on the street,
She made a paper garland,
She laughed without any concern,
The next day,
She listened cooker whistle,
From the neighborhood,
But slowly she left the colony forever,
And her soul merged into the festival by death.
