BE THE ONE

BE THE ONE

Though I walk alone,

Many will walk together,

For, when good seeds are sown,

A bounteous crop awaits favorable weather.

Now, on irenic paths, I walk alone,

Soon all shall walk together,

For, when the good deed is done,

Each man shall inspire his brother.

For, as my cause is just,

I do, and shall hold, fast,

Then come they will, and come they must,

And, we’ll all hold out till the last.

It takes the greatest courage,

To stand up alone and fight;

He bears the greatest burden,

Who stands up for what is right.

Yet, if there is just a single soul,

If, but one man can be found,

To give to a worthy cause; his heart-whole,

Soon, the multitude all around shall surround!

So, even though, I start alone; no pun!

The day shall surely come,

When all those; who, me, did shun,

Shall soon, follow; as many have done.

One voice can spark a movement,

One word can wake the dream.

One tree can start a forest,

One trickle can grow into steam.

One bird can herald spring,

One thought can lift a soul.

A single smile, can friendship bring,

One resolve can frame the goal.

One star can guide the ship,

One vote, can history, bring,

One flame can light another,

One boat for all to cling!

One sunbeam can light a room,

Sweep darkness; make a million flowers bloom.

One man can inspire his brethren,

One laugh can conquer gloom.

One step can be the journey,

One word, the only prayer,

One hope can raise your spirits,

One-touch can show your care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,

One soul can know the truth.

One birth can make a difference,

One tree can give the fruit.

One thought can move the mountain,

One pen, the sword; conquer;

One deed may spring the fountain,

No evil thoughts occur!

The one, who rises to humanity’s cries,

Shall in heaven, be welcome,

And, will be ‘reverend’, by all men’s eyes,

For, he has, the ‘one’ become.

For, when the days toil is done,

They shall all sing his story;

And at the setting of the sun,

He shall have won; his greatest victory.

For, when the battle has been won,

The greatest shall be his glory,

For men to reflect under the sun,

And learn from his beneficial story.
