Sometimes I Am Mean
Sometimes I Am Mean
I am usually selfless,
But sometimes I am mean enough,
To be selfish,
For my own good,
To make the best out of the awkward.
When I was studying,
I use to be quite a serious student,
I never liked it,
Anyone should be allowed,
To waste my time.
So I had a strategy,
Whenever something,
I found it not useful,
I will send somebody else,
Else I can devote my time to academics.
Once we were going on a cross country walk,
I and my friends were all tired,
But we want to finish it together,
Suddenly a vehicle came,
He offered us a lift.
Everyone refused,
When I was asked,
I was silent,
So rest of the friends insisted,
I should avail.
I was so selfish,
That I didn't give it a thought,
Everyone refused,
I agreed,
And availed.
I reached my destination,
Well in advance,
And was immediately hooked to studies,
On the other hand,
Others were struggling to reach.
They all were tired,
But I realized my mistake,
To be selfish,
For the sake of my own goal,
Others sacrificed their opportunity.
Whenever I think of this incident,
I feel hurt,
I realized the greatness of my other friends,
They put me in comfort,
And suffered themselves.
