Solitary

Solitary

I stand tall.

I stand strong.

But I stand alone.

I've seen the darkest days,

And the pleasant moonlit skies.

I've been through my droughts,

And the happy sprouts.

I let my life, wither and strip me down,

I learn to rise to the heights but to stay on the ground.

I didn't choose to be alone,

The choice was never my own.

But it doesn't matter anymore,

I've learnt to live and explore.

I'm alone but free.

Like the solitary tree.
