Sinking In Oil

Sinking In Oil

1 min
234

As I walk down the street,

Hoping to meet

The reason for my pain,

I can’t help but think

How easily I let myself sink,

And whether I am still sane.

In times of distress,

My thoughts drift,

And to her, they shift.

Once again, the waves of regret hit

Bit-by-bit,

Till the sickness fills

My body from head to toe

The thought of an opportunity lost

Was too much to ignore

But never had I thought

That the chance has taken

Would cost me more

The agony that results

From loss

Seems to never cease

If only it were a passing breeze…
