Silver Lining
Silver Lining
Writi Bandyopadhyay: "You ever fall in love
And then in the end
You just get heartbroken?"
With a quiet voice, sullen
She asked with a heart she'd let rend
Through the thousand emotions, it wove
All of them hurt.
He paused, then looked back at her
Returning her question with a silent answer
Through ardent, sincere eyes
Which also told her he had had to hold back many cries.
Even now he was.
They held each other near
And in that warm me
Of a mutual understanding
They found in each other
Someone very very dear,
And perhaps everything
That happened was meant to be
Therein laid their silver lining.
