Silence

She lays awake,

In the dark...

Silence echoing around,

Cracking the darkness.

Shiny liquids fall slowly,

From eyelids to pillow.

Hopelessly awaiting ,

For a knock on the soul,

Smooth and mellow.

The darkness surrounds,

Each and every part ,

As the light made its way,

Through the cracked heart.

Darkness is also a pretty thing, so bathed in mystery,

And yet it is the saddest thing, when drenched with memory.

They say the pain lasts just a while,

Trade this silence for someone's smile...
