When I close my eyes, I do really know
What says to me, the ruthless snow
What says to me, the unending sky
Of things that I cannot deny
That the lives we touch, are the lives we lost
To insanity and true loss of thought
These people punish us for our existence
How do we stand a chance with such persistence?
They kill the rivers, the earth and me,
An innocent, caring, helpless tree
Oh, forgive me so, the children of men
That we of nature, every now and then
Provided you with fruits, food and water
To deserve this incessant slaughter
We hope that you care and protect
And provide us love and respect
Listen to the winds, the sky and sea
And the request of an innocent tree.
