Reflect, Realise, Reinstate
Reflect, Realise, Reinstate
In a world full of prejudice
Judgemental attitudes governed by people's vices
I feel stifled
Gasping for air, I yearn to come ashore
To breathe
To breathe the air of freedom
To remind myself that,
"Girl! What you are shouldn't depend on what people think of you.
You are a fighter.
You have to go against the current to win this. "
To jolt myself out of the grasp
Of the negativity enveloping me
I revive
I restore
I come back with a bang
Taking big strides
Overlooking vices embracing virtues
After all we are all imperfect
But I don't do this alone
I have a few silent heroes
Watching my back
Telling me we all roll down the hill
And I must learn to trek my way up
Up to the point
Where I open my arms and meet myself once again
Carefree, sensitive yet strong.
