Reaching Heights

The girl stared up in the starry sky.

Her eyes pierced into the boundless universe, intently searching for answers.

Her yellow skirt flared up and down,

In sync with the mellow wind.

She lifted her hand up, trying to grab on to the ever eternal space,

But in vain.

She, that day understood that

the sky was too big, too complex

for her to reach, that she was too insignificant to soar into the space, to conquer it.

But not for too long.

A lopsided smile took over her

face as she looked back at the never ending sky.

She will come back .
