She can recall it so minutely even today,

Words on her lips as if it were a tale of yesterday,

A pleasant, sunny noon in the spring,

When flowers bloomed in high spirit,

The merry soul of nature made explicit,

And all were busy doing one's own thing.

On the side road, a little cardboard box lay,

With peeping eyes of a puppy they'd call "stray",

But Oh! What an endearing creature it was,

An olive brown coat with a tinge of gold,

Little blue eyes and the story they told,

Fanged jaws and his teeny-tiny paws!

One glance at him and Sarah knew he was hers,

Like stimulation in our body that imagination stirs,

So she kept him on her shoulder and his muffler he became,

Just then rain fell as if the Lords were happy too,

Looking in his brown eyes, she obviously knew,

Sarah kept him in her bag and said," Bruno is his name!"

Soon they became gym-buddies: Jump, Bend, Stretch!

Then they started playing games:' Go, Bruno fetch!'

Lonely Sarah finally lived her life in a joyful spree,

Living away from home, she sure was isolated,

"Running after money, fame; hoping they'd make me decorated,

But I never knew a dog would be the one to complete me!"
