The past continuous or imperfect tense

If recent past is needed to describe,

With continuity, this tense is used by wise.

If the subject is singular then "was" is used,

And if plural then "were" don't confused.

The first form of the verb is used with "ing"

The object can be added very long,

Maybe lengthy as a train a furlong.
