Plights of the Resolute

With no such dreams set so high,

She could never aim to reach the sky.

Young girl with an urge to read,

Sowing in vain her hopeful seed.

She watched school kids going down the lane,

Little did anyone understand her pain!

Being the eldest daughter of her mother with no son,

Shared the wrath faced by the mother with no question.

Amidst the privileged cousins she had to sustain,

Realized that birth of a girl in patriarchy is a bane.

And then life gifted her with a twist.

With a heavy heart and strong mind she eloped with her Love,

A mere teenager was then caught in the dubious trap of love.

Disowned by parents yet loved by In-Laws,

and her contentment couldn't be confined within the walls.

Blessed with two kids she thanked the God,

Unaware of the future so odd.

She cursed the fate when her endearing mister,

Fell in love with another spinster.

He gifted her with his infidelity,

Unfortunately, She had to spare him without any penalty.

Begged him and the families,

But only to face their cruelties.

Alas! she burned down her love and happiness,

Sacrificed, for the sake of two dependents.

She clothed herself in strength and dignity,

Pledged to be a good mother with all rigidity.

She laughed away the fear of future,

Cause She is the Resolute one for now and forever.
