On the Stage

I feel excitement bursting in me

As I observe the stage.

Not any stage,

But the one on which I am going to perform.

I snap myself back to reality,

As I get ready for my performance.

I feel my heartbeat

As it fastens its pace.

As I climb the stairs of the stage,

I do not only feel excited,

But also nervous,

As the crowd watches me.

The music starts,

And as I start to move my body,

I feel relaxed,

And the music starts to take over me.

The music ceases and the audience claps.

As I feel relieved with my performance,

I bow to my audience,

And walk down the stage.
