Ode to my Mentor

Still remember the very first lesson you taught us all,

The five essentials of a good person I could see in your soul,

You came as a saviour and led us towards a path that was right,

Illuminating our life with all colours you soon became our guiding light;

You motivated and inspired us to increase our self-esteem and pride,

Admonishing us at times for dwelling too much over unnecessary plight.

By extending a helping hand and mentoring us all along the way,

So well you could understand even what I was not able to convey.

Untold doubts and insecurities hovered over me,

But the universe had something good in store,

for, with you it finally answered my silent plea;

you gave me the confidence to stand back on my feet,

You helped me feel a sense of achievement even in the face of defeat.

Sir, You are the answer to my prayers,

In the world of unemployment, you are my element of sure-shot invested shares.

Thank you sir for all that you do for each and every one of us

Your pious face not once sullen, you deal lovingly without any fuss.

Writing elegies for you the ink of my pen will never run dry,

To Seek your benign presence and blessings I often find myself looking up at the sky..

I know I will see you soon someday 

I know you will be there to greet me back home;

But for now, all I wish is that the best of health comes your way

And may Happiness of all kinds light your eternal joyous day.
