Newbie To School
Newbie To School
As a young and tiny tot
I'd to all the way trot
To the first day of school
I was but bamboozled.
I'd like to burst my bubble
For it was a newfound struggle
I buckled under pressure
To be relieved from homely pleasure
In a newly designed school attire
Oh! Did I even desire?
A bag stuffed with slate and chalks
My feet decked in new shoes and socks.
A pack of Poppins popped in bunches
On each of our benches
It was a newfound trick to seat us
Without scope for any fuss.
As Kids, we were full of tears
Oh! How do we overcome our fears
In our bellies, fluttered butterflies
Ah! Wasn't it time for lullabies.
Our teacher was kind and fine
She taught us, straight band, slanting lines
On our slates, we scribbled
With our peers, we babbled.
Off went the long bell
It ended our first day's spell
Our happiness hit the roof
And We ran back home in troops.
