My School

My School

And today I feel those days were really cool,

When I see some guys going to school.

We stuck in the traffic, honking horns in our cars,

They with full swing on their cycles, the future stars

With their friends around, their joys know no bars,

The grown up we, with emotional wounds and life's scars

It takes me down the memory lane,

and everything appears on (or in) my pane.

As I look back upon the time so cool,

15 years at Lions Dnyanpeeth, my School.

We entered the school with fear and tears,

From Nursery to 10th, the journey of years,

We miss that fun of distributing chocolates on birthdays,

We miss those white uniform & Kalamkar Sir's PT on

Saturdays

We miss those dances, singing and mimes, in annual

functions,

We miss those Independence & Republic Day Celebrations

That complex Wren&Martin and those figures of speech,

Understanding William's poem was beyond our reach,

But Thanks to Dwivedi Mam, the best English teacher.

With good command over English, our future become richer

.

Sanskrit was tough, but Surangalikar Mam made it Easy.

Reciting Devah Devau Devah Prathamaha was fun so crazy.

Bhate Mam and Deshmukh Mam made us realize

that Science is an interesting subject

Significance of studying everything around us,

every matter and every object.

Plethora of knowledge we gained from, Ingle Sir's Hindi,

Sharma Sir's History and Paul Mam's Geography.

Just not limited to academics albeit, Suryawanshi Mam

polished our skills even in drawing & calligraphy

We pass Sanskrit Certifications and

Hindi Rashtrabhasha Exams with flying colours,

Lions Dnyanpeeth, an English medium school,

With Hindi as well as Sanskrit Scholars.

While mentioning Joshi Mam, my heart terribly winced,

My most favourite, The Marathi teacher, ever since.

We will never forget what she had ever taught,

Wherever she is, happy, and alive in our thought.

( Joshi Mam passed away few years back,

But her memories and her teachings are always with us)

Jalgaonkar Mam, the principal,

Is the pillar of the school.

Thanks for her discipline,

Regulations and all her rules.

So many schools in the city now,

Lions Dyanpeeth stands out in the competition.

The Convent Education and providing

Indian Sanskars, is a rare combination.

They taught us Christmas Carols,

They even taught us Bhagwat Geeta

In all these years,

They made many doctors,

Engineers and scholars,

But most Importantly, made each student

A good human being, with good morals

Lions Dnyanpeeth,

I sincerely Thank you.

I actually owe you a lot.

You've a Lion's share of everything in life I've got.

You laid the foundation of our glorious career

You set the aspiration that made our future merrier
