My Name Is Charmaine

My name is Charmaine and I am a survivor,                           

My story has begun but it doesn't end here,                               

 I want to live, breathe and feel free,    

 I want to explore, go on adventures and live without fear,                      

I want to escape to a place where I can be me,                      

  Breathe, believe, be free, be me!

My name is Charmaine and I won't let my past pin me down,                 

  I'll move forward with strength, wisdom, and grit,                           

 I'll paste a smile on my face and straighten my crown,             

 Face whatever comes my way, and get through it.

My name is Charmaine and the present is mine,    

 I'm moving forward with hope,         

 I want to shine                 

Braving whatever the past had to give,

 Now in the future, it's my turn to live.
