My Mind On Fire
My Mind On Fire
When I first touched the pen to the page,
I felt my hand go free,
My frigid posture melt away,
My hand started breathing slowly,
My thoughts etched on paper ,
Then I thought back of the night,
That gave me the inspiration to write,
I was cherishing literature,
A tear was then born in my eye,
It lived on my cheek then drowned away,
As the next made it's way,
The protagonist's words filled my mind ,
Made it seem,
I wanted them to be mine,
My mind,
It was about to burst,
My mind was on fire ,
Paper as water came to aid,
The pen as a desire,
The fire burnt out,
Waiting for me to see,
How this turns my life about,
The fire burnt out,
The pages started to fill,
My mind had earned it's freedom,
And I was never again still.
