My Dear Tree

The moment I pick the paper, I remember you My Dear tree..

Without you, the world could not be any better!

Come any festive fervour...

We chop each and every flower 

Offering it to your creator..

Without even knowing if you have had any fever...

I remember If I had fever, my mom would pick up an apple

making sure that it would not have any dapple..

No wonder, the apple would make me feel good within no time.

For which, you have never asked for any dime..

You stood through the tests of time, unaltered.

So that I could sleep on a nice, cozy bed!!

I could not see you cry when they cut your branches that were so long

so that I could play on a swing and get along..

with my kith and kin happily sitting down on your bark

But, you would not mind even the dog's bark..

and let it dirty on you after sniffing.

Only, I could hear the rustling.

You are with me from the cradle to table, 

and from table to table...

Giving me the unconditional love, which I did not even notice..

Could you please tell me at least now, what is your fees??

which I barely can pay, but at least promise you to take care of you

Till my last breath, by not harming you or your friends,

Because of the lessons that I learnt from you..

A friend in need is a friend in deed!!!

Believe me, Dear Tree, this isn't my Greed, isn't my greed....
