We call ourselves developed

We call ourselves modernized

We call ourselves civilised

But we lack sight of the poor in the signal

We become deaf listening

To a girl urging to sale toys in the footpath

We spend a thousand bucks

Going to movies and malls

But we bargain with the footpath vegetable seller

Is this really the real development?

Is this the civilization that we are proud of?

Is this the modernisation we are running after?
