Come festivals or birthdays, I used to drag you to the most expensive shop

You came with me at the drop of a hat.

Though the new clothes made me look fat.

You smiled and told me that I was looking beautiful.

Though now I know that you made me look like a fool.

All for the love of a daughter who left you after getting married.

Did not even bother to check on you when I was salaried.

Regular calls were cut short to weekends to month ends...

Struggling to meet her daily needs, end-to-end.

Pa, you never complained, you slowly withdrew yourself from your attachment to me...
