Love is an Astute Exile

Sunshine reflected in my eyes,

As breeze brought life.

We were a foot apart but still

Were separated by miles.

Dust kissed your face,

When we drove

through the trail.

Your hairs tried to catch the wind,

But sooner they tangled me.

We rushed.......we paused....

We blushed.......we explored...

Within those ten minutes,

We lived ten lives.

My eyes followed your lead,

You were just a wish, don't know

When you became my need.

We both were travellers with

Parallel paths and separate aims.

Even if the journey never ended,

It wouldn't reduce the pain.

Hope someday, we'd cross our ways.

We loved....we met......

We hugged....we regret....

In those seven years,

We made memories of a lifetime.

The sun still goes up when the

Moon goes down.

The breeze still brings the dust of life,

But now you feel just a foot apart

Though you are miles away, my heart.

We evolve and we change but

Love is all that remains.

Regrets are hibiscus, they bloom in rain.

There's you....there's me......

But there'd never be us......

We meet many people in our lives,

But only those stay who survive the time.
