Everyone reading this has heard this phrase 'log kya kahenge?' at least once in life.

I came across this when I was in school and I had a boy as my best friend and the whole day I used to hang out with him, that time dad said 'log kya kahenge?'

When I took admission in engineering and after 1st semester I realised this is not my cup of tea, so I went to my parents and said 'Muzse na hopayga ye', that time too I got to hear 'Log kya kahenge?'

Then when I fell in love with someone from another religion, ye time kisi aur ne nai kaha, but maine darr ke maare khud apna pyaar dafna diya. Darr? Darr ki 'log kya kahenge?'

But over the years I have realised honestly, it should not matter.

Its your life and you have all the right to live it the way you want.

So I would be narrating some instances through my poem where you should not care about log kya kahenge:

1. Fall in love

Fall in love again,

For love will always find you and won't be vain.

Yes, the 1st one did not succeed in spite of you giving your best,

But honey, give yourself a 2nd chance and you may just find your nest.

Here don't worry about 'Log' around you,

They will see, speak and not prevail,

Because 'Log kya kahenge?' is not for you,

Its just a stereotype and let it fail.

2. Choose your own career that makes you happy,

Don't think about marriage that will ask you to change your baby's nappy.

Take your time, find your right match,

Who will make you fall for him, so that he can catch!

Here don't worry about 'Log' around you,

They will see, speak and not prevail,

Because 'Log kya kahenge?' is not for you,

Its just a stereotype and let it fail.

3. Yes I party, I smoke, I drink,

When I am happy without a blink.

I will give up the day my health fails to sync,

But not because I'm scared of what people will think!

4. So what the person I love is a girl,

It should not turn my world upside down and twirl.

Falling for same sex is not a crime,

It's not necessary that a girl and boy are the best rhyme.

Being gay or lesbian is not at all wrong,

If you love someone, don't be sorry, just stay strong.

5. Live your life on your own terms,

No one will come to your rescue when your heart burns.

Let them gasp, let them talk, let them not affect you,

Because life is for living and not waiting in a queue.
