Know who you are...

Know who you are...

Every individual runs a race,

Hardwork overrules grace,

Achievements keep all awake,

Putting humanity at stake.

Voice on ‘empowerment’ echoes,

Slogans on 'no discrimination' roars,

Yet there is a neglected class,

Treated as nothing, but a broken glass.

She has numerous names,

Worshipped somewhere, somewhere shamed,

Called as Kali, Durga, and Mary,

But her birth gives rise to a new sad story.

She plays many roles,

Leads humanity towards their goals,

Mother, sister, wife are her characters,

Silence is what she always utters.

She has the power of God on earth,

The only one who can give birth,

No evidence of humanhood would exist,

If the rules of Universe she resist.

How serene is her presence,

How divine is her existence,

She holds reverence in her identity,

She herself represents a Deity.

She is accepted as weak,

Expected to act as meek,

Although she holds the utmost power,

Yet she is abused every hour.

Beauty and grace are her ornaments,

She knows nurturing sentiments,

She wears a skin of Love,

Pure and innocent as Dove.

“Rise up, rise up” is what I must say,

It’s time Woman, to divert your way,

Show the rulers what you are,

Your identity is no less than a powerful zar.
