Just because
Just because
Just because I smiled,
Does not mean, I have
Forgotten. The words you uttered,
The scoffs you passed,
The sneers I witnessed that day,
From the person I had
Cared for, the most.
Just because I did not tear away,
Does not mean, I have,
Overlooked upon
The hurtful memories of my,
Swollen eyes and
Tear stricken face, the day,
You chose to break my heart,
Into a million fragments.
Just because I did not retort to
Your deleterious barbs,
Your mocking smiles and
Narrowed gazes, does not mean,
I have lost the strength
To defend myself, to stand up
Against this injustice.
For, I have now,
Stopped riling up myself,
For anyone and everyone,
Who does not acknowledge,
Even the existence of my emotions.
I have now stopped,
Bothering myself,
With some petty excuses of
Conniving loved ones.
I have now started living for myself.
