I had always envied writers
Their imagination and expression,
Little did I know that one day
I too would leave an impression.
At dawn all around me a cacophony
Of the early birds engaged in homophony
Catching the worm and flying homeward
To the young whose voices were still unheard.
God has dotted His canvas here and there
With flowers and fruits, some common some rare
In myriad hues of pink, red, yellow and blue
Glistening among the grass like the morning dew.
If this did not inspire me, what else will
The cute little girl in her frock with a frill?
My Maker, my hands clasp in gratitude
For anyone can enjoy your creation even in solitude.
