If Only....May Be

The only vase on a mantel

Has Sunflower;

Dull, dying, waiting

As if looking for

Some sunlight to brighten up

To swing and to look.

Some nights across

From the window

Wavering, doubtful images

Of a moon, rainbow can be seen.

Colours indistinguishable

Maybe, a retinal burned image

That reminds of

How things maybe.

If the window was open

And the house was

On the daylight street.

If I coud see beyond

The zenith and catch the dawn.

Of all that is now

Is a house

With a window that isn't.

And I wake up to a dream,

To realize

How they are

How things could be,

If only.......

Just maybe..
