I Wish…

 I don’t wish to be loved
only when I’ve been helpful

I don’t wish to be remembered
only when you need me

 I don’t wish to be soft
just because it’s expected of me

Nor do I wish to be strong
only because the battle isn’t yours to fight

 I don’t wish to fly
simply because the wind is in my favor

 I don’t wish to find happiness
only when everything goes your way

I don’t wish to be guided
only by what is convenient for you

Yes, we are one in this journey together
yet I carry a heart, a voice, and a dream of my own

Love, to me, is not about losing myself 
it’s about finding ourselves


While honoring each other’s individuality, 

Walk with me,
Understand me,
And let us choose each other everyday

Not out of need,
But out of Love, Respect, and Companionship.
