I Was Your Asset
I Was Your Asset
When we first met,
I thought I owned you.
It seemed our lives were set,
Like the adhesive in the glue.
We distributed our joy and throes,
Like the companies distribute their profit and loss.
We contributed to our lives love and fun,
Like the shareholders contribute the capital in sum.
Those memories with our love raptured,
Those happy-sweet moments in my heart I captured.
You were my only Logan berry,
In my life which was so merry.
I was in fine fettle,
Until you logged into me to settle.
You were my fixed asset,
And I was your only goodwill gadget.
You were my insurance policy,
For which I paid my premium without any formality.
I thought I owned the 'Company-YOU',
Later I realized I was a mere shareholder with a due!
When about this I herald an ado,
Viciously you bid me adieu.
Once upon a time, we linked,
But now I understand your fling.
Today you showcase your flippancy,
And with this, you leave in my heart a vacancy.
You said I was 'your asset',
Wow congrats! you are a hypocrite.
You depreciated 'your asset' with formality,
So 'my love' today becomes your liability.
