I Tried To Write A Poem

I tried to write a poem

I tried to write a limerick too

After I was done I felt quite sad

Because my haiku sounded really bad

I tried to write about clouds and rainbows

Even about concerts and shows

But then suddenly I had an idea that I had never had before

And this time I was sure

That if I wrote a poem now

Everybody who heard it would say "wow!"

My poem wasn't about something cool like a lost city

But it was definitely witty

It was about how I could never write a poem no matter how much I tried

Of ideas, my brain was completely void
