I Like To Sit In The Silence

I like to sit in the silence.

A book in my hands.

With a smile on my face, mind full of awe.

And my heart thanking the writer for the infinite time.

I like to sit in the silence.

Cause this is when I think of all the valuable things,

Like Am I ever going to live out my bucket list?

Or like am I ever leaving this bed?

I like to sit in the silence.

Sometimes just alone in my room.

When I stare at the ceiling.

And wonder about my existence for the infinite time.

I like to sit in the silence.

Adoring my sense of music.

Trying to learn the beat and remember the lyrics.

Or maybe making myself believe that I am more than just alive.

I like to sit in the silence.

Even I like to sit in the dark.

Cause this is when anything around you doesn’t seem so bad.

And I am smiling, flattered that I found something immortal.

I like to sit in the silence.

My body still but my mind running fast.

And my thoughts floating in the air like a newborn leaf.

Wondering if the buzzing I hear in my mind is ever gonna stop.

I like to sit in the silence.

Where it’s not compulsory to be an extrovert.

Or someone who inspires people around her.

Just admitting that I am totally imperfect and hideous.

I like to sit in the silence.

Cause sometimes this world seems too much sane.

Too much sane, too much tender, too much fake?

But here I am, knowing and enjoying that I am insane.
