Hidden Me

Hidden Me

I’m here now, but not for long,

I’m no longer very strong.

Underneath this armor I am very weak,

But those words I’ll never speak.

I hide my pain very well,

Behind a beautiful smile and you can’t tell.

People think they know the real me,

But that part of me isn’t free.

She’s too fragile, last time her heart broke,

“She’s ruined!” He would laugh and joke.

So, I tucked that part of me away,

She’s still there, to this day.

I will protect what’s left of her,

If I can still remember.
