Half-lit Cigarettes and Cookies
Half-lit Cigarettes and Cookies
You and I,
Were never the perfect constellation that could ever be formed
We were destructive
Agony was the ruler of our world
Like burnt bridges
Falling leaves
Untravelled roads
Dark skies
You and I,
Were never the perfect landscape a painter could ever paint
We were like a morse
Sent to the Earth
For one to decrypt the other
Our breaths were
Like signals to our intertwined souls
And numb bodies
You and I,
Were never the perfect relaxant to mortality
We were the definition
To absurdity
To vulnerability
To abnormality
To unread books
Like prosaic poetry
You and I,
We were never the perfect verse a writer could ever write
Our existence was senselessly divine
We were beyond comprehension
You and I,
Were like
Half-lit cigarettes and cookies
