Half Faded Memories

Half Faded Memories

My memories are all in black and white,

Maybe because they are always true and forthright.

I still remember walking on the road beside the railway track,

In school uniform, along with my classmate with a school bag on my back.

The clock tower on the way to school told us the time,

We had to hurry up, and at times into our school gates just slime.

My classmate used to bring curd rice for lunch,

He and I used to have snacks to surreptitiously munch.

The half-saree-wearing Padmini who was my first crush,

Her appearance in the classroom sent me an adrenaline rush.

I left the school after proposing to her,

I would still like to hug and kiss her forever.
