God In My Life

God In My Life

My mind is in a bottomless pit I don't understand,

I seek solitude and peace of mind it's true,

I feel so tensed up, I cannot sit or stand,

I feel helpless I don't know what to do.

I fight back not letting my mind go haywire,

I try to think of a way,

I try to free my mind from the engulfed fire,

I kneel down and to my God, I pray.

Then I feel God's great presence;

Know that God is somewhere near me,

Because of God's essence.

Whispers, I am standing next to you, though you cannot see.

Then I feel his touch, feel God's light,

Feel as it envelopes my mind.

The dark thoughts take flight.

Leaving all bad thoughts behind.

I called out to God in my dark moment of grief,

He heard my call he heard my plea.

From darkness, in my mind, he gave me relief,

Proving to us he will not desert our belief,

But always be there for you and me.
