Friends Forever

Not all friendships start cordial,

Here's a story of our shared ordeal.

A decade ago he started being around,

It was too early for the love to be found.

We were just classmates, not friends at my end,

Through college days he came to me with a helping hand to lend.

A semester and I was well aware,

Why he was coming over to help me here and there?

Strangely, I felt very weird at the start,

But he gradually entered my friend's chart.

Much later, a chance walk with a casual conversation,

Helped me admire his ideology and dedication.

While few women in the group asked me to change,

He was clear, I was good the way I was, however strange!

That was the day I decided after that walk,

That this is the guy I want for the rest of my life too.

After a decade of a long-distance relationship,

Our marriage sealed the ordinary into a forever friendship.
