Dreadful Night

Dreadful Night

My weary body took me to slumber.

Oblivious of the horrific midnight awaiting,

My mind enjoyed the company of darkness.

The night was passing seamlessly.

A sudden knock on the door triggered my inactive brain.

I went up to the door wobbling.

As I unlocked the door, a gush of wind made me fall.

I was startled by the horrible sight of a man.

Armed with a dagger, his scarred face spilt blood.

The door was locked so was my mind.

Fear had taken over my mind's strength.

With my body shivering, I went into panic mode.

The man with ruthless aggression kicked me.

He had a smirk on his face as I winced in pain.

The sharp edge of the dagger was brought close to my eyes.

'I will peel your eyes', smiled the killer.

There was no way I could be shown mercy.

As I closed my eyes ready to die,

'Leave me', a voice erupted.

Slowly I opened my eyes only to see the killer handcuffed by cops.

'What an escape,' said my activated mind.
