Depression....The Disguised Friend

Everyone is so scared of me,

Everyone just tries to stay away from me...

My heart aches and I ask myself, 

“Oh! Why???”

“Don't be scared...For you think of me as your greatest enemy,

But just rethink...I am your friend indeed. 

Yes, I am your very own depression. 

I know like everyone does,

That you are all alone right now

That you are the most vulnerable and going through the toughest time right now,

so please allow me to tell you,

“You are not alone, my friend.

I am here with you...

Holding so tight when no one else embraces you. When you want to speak, shout and express,

I am here with you...

Understanding silently, when no one else listens to you. When you want to shed those tears,

I am here with you...

Not mocking at your pain, when no one else cares for you.

When you want to be still for some time,

I am here with you...

Freezing your mind, when no one else is letting you. When you want to eat nice and a lot,

I am here with you...

Telling you to eat whatever you can or have

When they are partying without you.

You might be financially broken,

Or emotionally downtrodden,

Even physically might be about to give up...

But trust me...My dear friend.

I am here with you.

Not caring how you dress up

How do you speak or even how do you behave?

Do whatever you want to

Be how you feel to be

Cry as much as you want to or 

Even laugh non-sense if it makes you feel better.

Just be however you want to be.

Because hey, as I said, “I am your friend

And I am here with you.

After a night’s long cry,

Feel free to lose my hand and let me go,

But promise me to step out completely confiding in you.

Be your own sunshine.

Be your own sky.

Be your own sea

And just be your own pride.

And I, My dear friend.....

One day when you will look back,

Will smile back standìng here,

To know...

That You my friend, so devastated then,

Is a winner now.

So just remember,
