Abstract Tragedy

Dear God

Dear God

Are you listening?

Are you looking in?

Please,

If you are,

If anyone truly is,

Let me sing to you

A soul

A sound.

Ironic,

Despite the name

I am dim

I am dull

A cry shouted only to fade.

Born and raised

To destroy myself

Battered and bruised into stopping.

Please,

Anyone who's listening

Anyone at all out there

If there is a god,

Do you have time to spare?

For here I stand drowning

In a world of your very making

Dear god,

If you could so spare the favor

Some of us are in need of saving.

If you are there

If you are listening

Why are you still waiting

Am I not worth saving?

All those sleepless nights

Spent on broke knees praying

All those helpless cries

From tired lungs

Helpless tongues

And hearts almost done beating

If you are there

Oh great anything,

If there is a god,

What are you waiting for?

Come save me.
