Celebrating the 15th August 2020

Am I free and unshackled, I silently wail,
In a bolted room, looking through a veil,
Verdant foliage I see on the trees yonder,
Rain drops make them swing and saunter.
What frightens me to reach the trees there?
Why touching the green leaf poses a scare?
Why be afraid of smelling the wet ground?
Why lack courage to soak in rains around?
Am I free and unshackled, I silently wail,
In a bolted room, looking through a veil,
I see no God but Erebus before my eyes,
Fangs of forebodings bare up with cries.
Has He let loose some invisible creatures?
Deep in darkness, I feel angst and torture.
All of a sudden, a dreamy light permeates,
Up in the sky the darkness to light relents.
The welkin smiles up with sabre-like rays,
Black clouds brighten with silvery glaze.
Rains disappear, leaving wetness around,
Life returns to its rhythm with a rebound.
Why are we not as proficient as Nature?
Why bow to maladies of unseen creatures?
Are we free? Are we unfettered? We wail,
In a bolted room, behind a blinding veil.
