Butterfly Is Flying Now
Butterfly Is Flying Now
It was just another one of "those" days.
The usual, the mundane
The desperate, the insane
All clubbed together
And you still smile.
How strong you are girl! Really.
I was standing under the sunny blue sky
It seemed like one of those long lost days
When you actually wanted to fly.
Just then I saw something
Something trapped under a tree branch
Flapping its wings desperately
I could feel the desperation in my beating heart.
What is it I wondered?
It was a butterfly.
A wild orange one with wonderful black stripes
And it was so desperate to be free.
I could not look away.
How can I help it?
I went forward and gently removed the tree branch
And the butterfly escaped.
The flapping slowed down
Slower and slower every minute
My heartbeat calmed down as well
I was relieved.
I could not forget what I had witnessed.
But I had to leave.
I went back to my room and opened my laptop
I started to write a poem, I hadn't written one in ages
"Too busy" I used to tell myself
My fingers were flying across the keyboard,
I didn't stop until I had finished.
I smiled when I read the poem and wrote the title as:
I hope, the butterfly is flying now.
