Birthdays

 Why do we celebrate on our birthdays, why do we rejoice?

When we were born into this world, did we have any choice?

Did we opt willingly, for all the physical pain we undergo?

Did we agree to endure the mental torture, and even more?

Why was I born in a shack, whilst the others roll in money?

Why do I face typhoons and flooding; for others it’s sunny?

To be born is an undeserved curse, no need at all to rejoice!

Against meaningless celebrations, I must raise my voice!
