Banking-A poetic introduction!

Banking strikes as the primary option,

When it is time to choose a profession,

Seems to be the pick of every season,

The choice of many in campus selections.

Money being the ultimate, but obvious reason,

Be it in the pockets or that in circulation,

Will be monitored even in recession,

So Banking will always remain in fashion.

Appeals alike to the Strategist and the Statistician,

The HR professional or the Mathematician,

Those in Sales or even a Chartered Accountant,

Lawyers of course, coz there is plenty of documentation.

A field which caters to people across all segments,

It is about Credit cards, Personal loans, Insurance and Investments,

Cash Credit and Overdrafts for the business people,

But for some its only about deposits and withdrawals.

Those in the know see a lot more action,

LC, BG and Escrows facilitating Trade transactions,

Finance for Crops and Agricultural equipments,

Warehousing and CV Finance for improving transportation!

Let's not forget the systems for efficient Cash Management,

Infrastructure lending? Will it be ECB, FCCB or FCTL?

Stock Market listing and even Mergers and Acquisitions,

The field is very vast, with a lot of segregation.

The current focus is however on rural inclusion,

Plastic cards and Online transactions,

To reduce and limit the paper in circulation,

Opening an account requires only KYC documentation.

It is a job which involves regular customer interaction,

Managing relationships internally and with other organizations,

Meeting targets and ensuring compliance of RBI regulations,

That's a poetic introduction to Banking, the most sought after profession.
