Are We Really Free ?

Today we'll celebrate the freedom of our mother India

People will show their patriotism by posting it on social media

But is our nation truly independent?

If yes, then why the youth are facing the problem of unemployment?

Why a person is committing suicide attempt every minute?

And if it's free, why a lady fears to roam freely at night?

Someone commits the crime & the innocent goes to jail

Justice has become partial & the criminal gets the bail!

The man who erases our hunger is not getting his actual value

Out of the burden of the loan; hangs himself in the field & bids adieu!

If it is free, why every day we are getting the news of murder?

The soldiers who protect us are even not safe at the border!

The politicians are showing fake dreams to the common mass

With their fake promises, just doing their time pass!

Corruption has become the only truth in this land

Throw money & get your jobs done, this is only they understand!

Child rape & child labor are growing everywhere in this free country

Mature people also ignore it & don't even feel sorry

 There is no one whom we can actually call an Indian

Everywhere we find either a Hindu, Muslim or Christian

Though Right to Equality is mentioned in the constitution

But people are still judged by their class in this nation

The rich are prospering by suppressing the poor

And if one is lower by birth, he ought to be lower!

Everyone is divided & there is nothing special at all

Riots are now frequent in the name of God in masjid & temple!

Marriage between two different castes is still not fully accepted

The society raises questions & most of them are rejected!

Of course from the British rule, we are free; no doubt

But with all these existing issues, are we really free; just think about

Unless & until these are not eradicated from the society

We can never say our India is a free country.
